Korean BBQ Chicken Wings (Tong Dak)



Ingredients

  1. 2 pounds chicken wings and drumettes
  2. 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, minced
  3. 2 tsp sesame oil
  4. 6 tbsp soy sauce
  5. 3 tbsp sugar
  6. 3 tbsp honey
  7. 5 cloves garlic, minced
  8. 1/2 small onion, minced
  9. 1 tbsp red pepper paste (kochujang)

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients but the chicken together for the sauce.
  2. Marinate chicken for at least an hour in the sauce (a few hours is better).
  3. Preheat oven to 400 F.
  4. In a heated pan on the stove, brown the chicken on all sides, reserving the marinade for later.
  5. Transfer chicken wings and drumsticks to a shallow roasting pan, pouring sauce over pieces.
  6. Put chicken into the preheated oven.
  7. Turn once during cooking, covering with more sauce if needed.
  8. Cook chicken for a total of 40 to 50 minutes in the oven.
